On brand with our Summer Reading theme 'Plant a Seed, Read', join us for a weekly movie viewing; digging into both horror and palate-cleansing young movies.
[Please note, some movies may be swapped out depending on if we can receive physical working copies of media; we'll keep the calendar page as up-to-date as we can as the dates near.]

June 1st: Little Shop of Horrors (1986 PG-13)
A quiet, shy flower-shop employee finds an extraordinary plant with unusual appetites (plus musical).

June 8th: The Lorax (2012 PG)
In a land where real vegetation is rare, a young boy (voice of Zac Efron) seeks to impress his pretty neighbor by getting a tree. But in the process, he encounters the Lorax, a cantankerous yet endearing creature intent on preserving the forest.

June 15th: The Thing From Another World (1951 TV-PG)
A team of scientists at an Arctic research station near the crash site of a UFO unearth a mysterious figure frozen in ice, and when it thaws the unearthly monster goes on a murderous rampage. Remade by John Carpenter in 1982.

June 22nd: Ferngully: The Last Rainforest (1992 G) or WALL-E (2008 G)
Animated tale of sylvan sprites imperiled when humans invade their forest and threaten to unleash an evil spirit.
or
Oscar-winning CGI-animated delight, set on a wasteland Earth circa 2800, where the last robot on the planet, a centuries-old trash compactor named WALL-E, romances a sleek, high-tech android.

June 29th: Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978 PG)
Seed pods from outer space drift to Earth where they duplicate---and replace---humans.
