Earn service hours and make a difference at the library! Help plan and run programs, discuss library and community projects, recommend books and materials, and more.
Since 2023 teen volunteers have been planning and running a Haunted Activity House for kids and their families on October 30th.
Planning meetings start in spring and start picking up throughout the summer and fall.
If you’re interested in taking part, please complete the Volunteer Application and indicate in the ‘Other’ section that you would like to take part in Haunted House planning.
Volunteer from Home
Create cards for kids in the hospital through Cardz for Kidz. Creating 4 cards earns 1 volunteer hour.
Please review the Cardz for Kidz guidelines before you begin.
How to get service credit for the hours:
1) Take a picture of each card and email them to teenread@wheatonlibrary.org
2) Mail your cards to Cardz for Kidz, 516 N Ogden #177, Chicago, IL 60642 or or bring them to the Teenspace and we will mail them for you.
Send cards to seniors through Love for our Elders. Creating 4 cards earns 1 volunteer hour.
To create cards, follow their guidelines.

What books have you loved? Hated? Is there a video game you can't stop playing?
Write (or record) a short review and submit it to teenread@wheatonlibrary.org. Reviews will be posted to our Teenspace blog.
For each review you'll receive 30 minutes of service hours.
