Ten years ago, best friends Beatrice, Elowen, and Clare saved the realm of Mythria from the forces of evil, and it absolutely ruined their lives. Their heroic quest gave them fame, but at the cost of losing their quest leader and friend, Galwell the Great—and now the three of them don’t even speak.
But it’s a decade later, and the queen of Mythria, whom they rescued on that fated quest, is getting married, and to everyone’s dismay, they can’t refuse the invitation. Clare, a swoon worthy scoundrel with a heart of gold, is dreading seeing Beatrice again after they broke each other’s hearts following a one-night stand and never speaking again (but still longs to prove himself worthy of her again). Beatrice is fresh off a divorce and is definitely not still thinking about Clare and his roguish charm, thank you very much, but she is thinking about how she hurt her ex-best friend, Elowen. And Elowen lives secluded in a forest after losing her brother, Galwell, in the quest, and won’t let anything or anyone close to her heart again (except, maybe a beautiful assassin woman from her past that she might still be in love with).
This Will Be Fun by E.B. Asher is messy, cozy romantasy fun. The character dynamics are complex and both of the central romances are enough to make anyone swoon. Lovers of The Princess Bride or Legends and Lattes will definitely enjoy this one!
