Calling all artists!
Your creative design could be featured on the next Wheaton Public Library card. Fit the theme of WPL’s mission statement: “Wheaton Public Library is a welcoming destination that connects the community to literacy, information, ideas and experiences. Grow with us!” Winners will be chosen from the following age groups: Youth (ages 0-11), Teens (ages 12-17), and Adults (ages 18+). Participation is limited to WPL cardholders. Deadline to submit is October 15.
Requirements:
- Artwork must be submitted on the template provided by the library (available at the Welcome Desk or WPL website). Cards will be printed as 3.375 x 2.125 inches.
- Accepted file formats for digital submissions: JPEG, PNG, PDF
- Designs should be 300 dpi resolution to ensure high print quality.
- Use any medium (e.g., colored pencils, markers, digital art) as long as it is flat and scannable.
- Space must be left for WPL logo in lower righthand corner.
- Artwork may not include artist’s name.
Contest Rules:
- Participants must have a valid WPL card.
- All designs must be original and created by the participant.
- Designs that contain copyrighted material, offensive language, inappropriate images, or use of AI will result in disqualification.
- By entering the contest, participants grant the library the right to use, reproduce, and publish their designs for promotional purposes.
- The library reserves the right to make minor adjustments to the winning design to fit printing specifications.
- Only one entry per person; late submissions will not be accepted.
Judging Criteria:
Entries will be judged based on the following criteria:
- Creativity and Originality
- Relevance to Theme
- Visual Appeal
Judging Process:
Library Board of Trustees, Wheaton City Council members, and Mayor Phil Suess will vote for one winner in each age category. Winners will be announced in November and new library cards with winning designs will be available in 2026.
