The Knight and the Moth by Rachel Gillig

Sybil's job as a Diviner is to see the future at the cathedral she calls home, and lords from all over the kingdom make the journey to hear their future from her and her sister Diviners. One night, the king comes to visit to hear his future from Sybil. Among his company is a roguish, irritating, and handsome knight named Rory.

When her fellow Diviners begin to go missing one by one, Sybil has no choice but to enlist Rory's help to leave the cathedral and find out what happened to them. Equipped with a gargoyle who calls everyone Bartholomew and cries a lot, Sybil goes on a journey across the kingdom and learns that there are dangers lurking in every corner, and that nothing about her upbringing at the cathedral is as it seems.

The Knight and the Moth by Rachel Gillig has been hyped up on social media since its release, and for good reason. This is the first book in a romantasy duology, and I'm already eagerly awaiting the next book. Gillig knows how to expertly write a lush, gothic setting and extremely loveable characters. The chemistry between Sybil and Rory was incredible, but the real star of the show was the talking gargoyle. This was easily a five star read for me!
