Hate Follow by Erin Quinn-Kong

Hate Follow (2024) by Erin Quinn-Kong is a timely, behind-the-scenes family drama about an influencer mom and a teenage daughter who is tired of being featured in her mom’s social media posts. After becoming a widow at 35, Whitney Golden supports her four kids by working as a blogger and a social media influencer. Whitney’s younger kids still don’t mind “performing” for campaigns and while her teenage daughter Mia is sick of it, things truly reach a breaking point when Mia discovers a very unsavory, overly personal blog post of her mother’s from when her father died. Desperate to get through to her mom, Mia moves in with her best friend and makes the decision to sue her mother and force her to take down any content featuring her and her siblings. Though the legal case is an interesting part of the story, the truly compelling storyline is between Mia and Whitney, and the difficult choices Whitney must make if she hopes to salvage her relationship with Mia.
