Program Description

Event Details

Christmas in America from the 1940s through the 1960s meant aluminum trees, department store Santas, and cartoon specials. Every kid had to have an Easy-Bake Oven, G.I. Joe, or Slinky. Historian Leslie Goddard explores this optimistic era and explains why it was a turning point for how we celebrate the holidays.

This is a hybrid event, with an in-person presenter and both in-person and virtual participants. This registration is to attend virtually. To attend in-person instead, click here.
