Your Library Card

You are entitled to a library card at no charge if you live within Wheaton City limits.

Adults and Young Adults (from grade 6 up) may register for a library card at the Main Checkout Desk on the First Floor. Please have two forms of identification with you to show proof of your current Wheaton address. Children age 5 through grade 5 may register for their library cards in the Children's Department. A signature of a parent or guardian is required for anyone under age 18.

Cardholders are responsible for all materials borrowed with their cards, so please do not lend your card and report lost cards immediately. There is a $1.00 charge to replace a lost card.

If you live outside Wheaton City limits, you may purchase a library card for your family by paying an annual fee based on the tax bill method. Please bring your current home tax bill to the library when you come to register. To calculate the fee the library will apply the appropriate tax rate, as determined by the City of Wheaton, to the assessed valuation of your home.

Special cards are available for Wheaton business use, teacher use, school use and non-residents owning Wheaton property.

For more information about library cards, call the Circulation Department at 668-1374 ext. 510, or the Children's Department at 668-1374 ext. 540.
