Begun at the Wheaton Public Library in 1987, the library's Battle of the Books program challenges local 4th and 5th grade students to read and become familiar with a wide variety of books. A new season begins each January.

2010 Battle of the Books Wrap-Up
This year there were 211 Battle participants and 40 Battle coaches. Each of the 17 Battle teams receives a certificate. The top five teams receive special ribboned certificates and the top three teams receive trophies.
